Derwent Inktense Blocks 36 Tin

One of the most exciting features of these blocks is their water solubility. Using them dry, they produce intensely vibrant colors. However, by simply adding water with a brush, you can achieve a variety of effects, from washes to translucent layers. This versatility opened up new avenues for creativity in my projects, allowing me to experiment with different textures and finishes. What stands out about the Inktense Blocks is the permanence of the color. Once dry, the pigments are fixed, eliminating any worry about bleeding colors. This feature is particularly beneficial when layering colors or working on fabrics like silk and cotton, as it ensures that each layer remains distinct and vibrant.

Kuretake Gansai Tambi 6 Color Set-Deep Graphite

What truly sets the Gansai Graphite colors apart is their unique formulation. These watercolors merge the intense pigmentation ZIG is known for with a deep, matte texture that adds an unparalleled depth to artwork. The result is strikingly vivid colors that maintain a subtle, sophisticated matte finish, bringing a dramatic flair to both modern and traditional pieces. The versatility of these watercolors impressed me the most. Whether aiming for bold, expressive strokes or fine, detailed lines, the Gansai Graphite set delivers with its rich consistency and excellent blending capabilities. The darker palette opens up new avenues for creativity, allowing for exploration into more moody and atmospheric compositions.

Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors, 48 Colors Set

These watercolors strike an intriguing balance, behaving as a hybrid between traditional watercolors and gouache. They possess a creamier, slightly thicker consistency than watercolors, offering a touch of the opacity you’d find in gouache, yet they retain a charming translucency that allows for exquisite layering. This unique characteristic makes them exceptionally versatile and enjoyable to work with.

One of the most striking features is its versatility. This pencil is not just a coloring tool; it’s a watercolor and wax crayon all rolled into one. The chunky shape and size are perfectly suited for children, promoting a good grip and making it an excellent choice for young artists. However, its appeal extends far beyond just kids.
